Mums need a little T.L.C. too
There are a few things that new mums might not get enough of: hot tea, showers and sleep. To help with these three things you can’t go wrong with a can (or three!) of dry shampoo, a tube of concealer to help hide those dark circles and a reusable thermal mug like a Keep Cup, which come in some lovely bright colours and in up to 16oz sizes for mega cups of tea and coffee!
There will be many hours spent under a sleeping baby, and why not? They’re only small once after all! Some comfy PJ’s would be a huge help, these Iris & Edie ‘I’ll sleep later’ PJs are perfect for a sleep deprived mum, as long as you tell her she will get some sleep eventually! Hey, maybe you could offer to look after the baby for a little bit so she CAN sleep! The blue Cyberjammies pyjamas would be perfect for a breastfeeding mum as they have buttons for easy access. Talking of chilling out, a Netflix subscription is a GREAT gift – ask any new mum which boxsets they watched in those first few weeks and they’ll have a list as long as their arm!
Something new to wear when she does venture out like a Selfish Mum ‘Mama’ top would be appreciated, they do so many great logo tops and sweaters, including LOVE, MOTHER & STRONG, all great affirmations! A fun and colourful teething necklace would be perfect for adding something fun to any outfit, and Little Gnashers stock so many great styles and colours! Perfect for little hands to clutch and play with instead of mum’s hair!
Make her life easier
A few bits to make a new mums’ life easier wouldn’t go amiss either, a bottle of Milk Buster will make cleaning bottles and breastpumps really easy, and Summer Infant have designed the perfect bottle cleaner with a tool on the end for teats and hard to reach parts. Milk Monster is a clever little timer that tells you how long a bottles has been at room temperature for so saves having to remember, and reduces waste! Another thing that every new mum needs is a great baby carrier that can be used from birth to toddlerhood. Sometimes a baby just needs to be held, but when you’ve got things to do a carrier can help keep baby close and comforted and leave mum hands free to get on with things! Ergo do a range of carriers, this one is a 360 cool air carrier, and can be used from birth with an infant insert. If you want to really put a smile on a new mums face then food is the solution! Bring round a home cooked meal that can be reheated as required, order a supermarket shop to their door or perhaps a food subscription box like Abel and Cole, getting fresh fruit and veg delivered to their door with no need to battle the supermarket with a brand new baby!
Something to spoil them
Finally if you’re looking for something really special to commemorate the new arrival, or perhaps you’re a dad to be looking for a ‘push present’ for your partner then jewellery is definitely something to consider. Something that mum can wear to remind her of her new family at all times. Merci Maman create perfect keepsakes, that can be personalised with names and dates, and some style can have pendants and charms added at a later date if the family expands!
We’d love to know if you’d add anything else, or if you’re a new mum who got a great gift after having a baby!
